Elva Rebecca Ondiek

Director & Founder

Elva Ondiek is the founder and Director of Armstrong Women Empowerment Centre, based in Rabuor, Kenya. She is the first female founder of an empowerment center for women in her village, with the aim of supporting skills and talent that can create income-generating activities and reduce the high poverty levels.
Elva has a wealth of experience in the non-profit world having worked in organizations such as the Victoria Institute for Research and Environmental Development, Impact Research and Development and Care Kenya.

She holds a Certificate in Psychological Counseling from the Kenya Institute of Professional Counseling in Kisumu.

Elva currently serves as an executive board member in the disciplinary committee at Alendu Secondary School. She is also a member of YALI Network Kisumu and Entrepreneurs Spot Programs. Her hobbies are building networks, cooking, reading motivational books, giving speeches, promoting solar products and encourage the local community on the importance of savings.

Mrs. Alice Akoth Ochieng

Development Pillar Lead: An Environmental Conservation Expert with NEMA, Alice holds a BSc. Degree in Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management from the University of Nairobi. Her extensive work in Western Kenya and her expertise in environmental Conservation and Climate Change projects are crucial for the success of AWEC’s ONE TREE FOR USD 10 CREDIT initiative and the AWEC Tree Nursery.

As the Lead ICT Trainer in the Digital Pillar at the Toolkit for Skills, Mary excels at breaking down complex concepts and fostering a dynamic learning environment and is committed to equipping students with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s fast-paced digital world.

As a Community Resource person, Mary Juliet Kinda has experience in serving communities in Nyando Constituency, with experience, knowledge of different herbals, handcraft skills she has been able to offer trainings to various women groups through Armstrong Women Empowerment CBO to impact change.

A Clinical Psychologist: Pamela holds a Diploma in Psychological Counselling from Kenya Institute of Professional Counselling. Has adverse experience under Impact Research and Development Organization and Centre for Health Solution respectively targeting Key and Vulnerable population. She has vast experience in HIV testing and corelated issues with diverse clients /population at the Disc
